Behind The Scenes

Tegan Bailey's mixed-media paintings on studio table surrounded by art supplies, showcasing contemporary art process in Wagga Wagga, Australia.

Hello, and welcome back to your monthly insight into my world of art. This month, I invite you inside my sacred creative sanctuary - my studio. This is where ideas bloom into form, inspiration manifests into tangible art, and all the mesmerising magic happens.

Overflowing with an array of art supplies, materials, and ongoing projects, my studio is an ever-evolving landscape of creativity. Each day here presents a new journey, from the days immersed in sketching to those lost in the rich world of colour, mixing hues to summon the perfect emotional tone. I sometimes delve into the intricate printmaking processes, creating plates for monotypes or etching them to craft unique and expressive prints.

Every piece starts with an experience or memory that kindles a creative spark. It's emotions, intuition and the paper. This process culminates in work reflecting my thoughts and experiences.

I'm thrilled to share a few photos from my studio. These images offer a snapshot of the different stages my artwork undergoes. Understanding the journey behind each piece enriches the connection between the viewer and the artwork.

I'd love to hear from you! Where are you reading this? Are you at a desk or in a cosy corner at home? Share a photo of your spot, and if you have questions about my creative process, don't hesitate to ask.

Remember, art transcends the final piece - it's about the creative journey. The brush strokes, the layers of paint, and the moments of contemplation are the unseen components that bestow uniqueness on every piece.

Looking forward to sharing more of this creative journey with you,

- Tegan Bailey
